Once you solidify the proper sheet size for your bed, the following guide will help you pick out the perfect, cozy bedding for a great night of sleep!
The quality of bed sheets is often conveyed by the thread count—the number of threads per square inch of material. In general, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet, but the weave and type of thread may affect the hand of the material so that a sheet with a lower thread count may actually be softer than one with a higher count. Yarn quality also plays a part in the look and feel of sheets, as finer yarns tend to create a finer sheet fabric. The ply also plays a role in how heavy the sheet feels. Ply represents how many fibers are twisted together as the sheet is being created. A 2 ply 300 thread count sheet will feel heavier than a single ply 600 thread count sheet.
The biggest impact on your bed linen will be the fabric or fibre used. Do you want to go for natural fibres or synthetic? Different fabrics all have their own unique feel and characteristics.
PILLOW SHAM
When it comes to choosing the perfect bed sheets, there are a variety of options on the market, each with its own unique qualities and benefits. From luxurious silk and satin sheets to soft cotton, bamboo, and knit sheets, the choice is dazzling. An important factor to consider when choosing bedsheets is thread count.
FLAT SHEET
Most sheet sets typically include a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and one or two pillowcases. There’s not much need for wondering if you need a flat or fitted sheet for this reason — both are useful and usually come as a package deal. Some other sheet sets, like those Casper offers, also include a duvet cover.
For queen size sheets, expect to pay anywhere between $50 and $300, depending on the style of sheets. In general, materials like linen and silk will be the most expensive. Cotton, bamboo, Tencel, or other similar materials can vary — some are quite expensive, while others are more affordable. Polyester and other synthetic fabrics will generally be the least expensive.
